Valley of flowers

Located in Himalayas ,Valley of flowers is a scenic ineffable national park , and world heritage site located at 3352 meters to 3658 meters, also known as nandan kanan (the garden of Lord indra). Valley of flowers is surrounded by four major peaks , nilgiri in north , Nar parwat/ Kuntkhal in west, Rataban in east and saptsring in south, Valley of flowers is known for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and the variety of flora. This richly diverse area is also home to rare and endangered animals including the snow leopard ,Asiatic black bear, red fox and the blue sheep, birds found in the park include Himalayan monal pheasant and other high altitude birds.Valley of flowers is home for more than 500 species of flora and fauna. Many rare trees or flowers in India can be found here such as Taxus baccata, which is used for treating cacncer patient. Valley of flowers was found in 1931 by Frank s smythe , Eric Shipton and R. L. Holdsworth all british mountaineer lost their way  while returning from successful expedition to Mt. Kamet and happened upon the valley which was full of flowers , later named it as valley of flowers. Valley of flowers is ideally visited in july-august, as the flowers blooms maximum at this time.

Hemkund sahib

Hemkund sahib aka saptsring which means surrounded by seven mountain  peaks each adorned by nishan sahib, formally known as gurudwara Shri Hemkund sahib ji. It is found to be highest gurudwara in the world , which is located at 15200 ft, It is believed the tenth sikh guru Shri Guru gobind singh had worshipped in hemkund in his previous life. Hemkund is a Sanskrit name derived from Hem (“snow”) and Kund (“lake”). Hemkund sahib is situated 6kms from ghanghariya (also known as gobind dham), also not to be forgotten the only lakshman temple in india  which is situated in the same place,  ancient name of this place is lokpal which means defender of people, it is believed that Hindu God lakshman worshipped in this place as Shesha (serpent) of Lord Vishnu. The kund thus leads to formation of  Lakshman Ganga river .

Kagbhusandi Taal

This trek starts from Bhyundar village , giving the picturesque scenario of the area green forest ,glacier ,snow clad peaks, wildlife, and birds it takes three days for going and coming back to bhyundar village. To see this mesmerizing lake one has to climb upto 16000ft after crossing kagbhusandi khal.
